How can education practices feel like they are moving at the speed of light, yet we continue to find ourselves light years behind the changes going on in the world? For example, have you heard about the next revolution, the IoT or the Internet of Things? "Experts estimate that the IoT will consist of almost 50 billion objects by 2020." What does that even mean? Teachers don't need to be tech experts to know that as technology changes the way the world works we need to educate students to be ready for this new world. The answer isn't in hardware but in mindset shifts. Come use the IoT example as an inquiry into how we can innovate instruction to best prepare kids for the unknown.
