THIS SESSION IS INTERACTIVE!
Participants will learn how to implement strategies to get students moving and talking about text with flexible, dynamic groups using samples of quick chat starters, one page reading wonders and book quotes. Tips and tricks for discourse with flexible grouping will be demonstrated and actively practiced by attendees. Participants will learn how to use available technology for recording discussions that can be used for student reflection, conferencing, and podcasting to share with others. Other technology tools will be demonstrated so attendees can have students ‘show and tell’ what they have learned about a topic. Participants will learn how to engage students in digital discussions while teaching digital citizenship principles and building both reading and written expression skills. Free and easy to implement resources that work with any device or platform will be demonstrated.
